- Poesia en viu a Barcelona (1991-2003)
és un àlbum videogràfic realitzat
per Habitual Video Team, recull de dotze anys de la poesia en viu que viu
i que ha viscut en aquesta ciutat, a bars, a festivals o al carrer; poesia
local i internacional; poesia oral, sonora, fonètica, polipoesia, poesia
acció... poesia viva en directe.
Un tipus de poesia que al llarg de la dècada dels 90 hem vist com creixia
i es consolidava: el Festival de Polipoesia dirigit per Xavier Sabater,
els recitals del G's Club, la Revista parlada i la Revista
caminada que organitzaven Carles Hac Mor i Ester Xargay, el
Viatge a la Polinèsia
o el festival internacional
PROPOSTA,
entre altres. Mai no s'havia vist un auge tal de la poesia en viu. Ens
hauríem de remuntar a les avantguardes de principis del segle XX per
trobar un moment similar, però amb la diferència que els poetes d'aquests
darrers anys no representen la manifestació d'un grup artístic determinat,
ni d'una generació ni d'un concepte estètic uniforme, sinó que es tracta
d'una mixtura que admet poques classificacions. L'únic fet comú que els
agrupa és la interpretació en directe.
Així, en aquest àlbum hi ha poètiques molt diverses. D'una banda, hi
trobem molts representants de la poesia sonora en totes les seves variants,
des de la veu nua de Jordi Pope, Enric Casasses o Josep Ramon Roig, a la
poesia fonètica de Jaap Blonk, Mark Sutherland o Valeri Scherstjanoi, la
improvisació vocal de Nobuo Kubota, l'spoken word de Lydia Lunch, o els
poemes sincopats del novaiorquès John Giorno. En el terreny de la veu
combinada amb so, podem escoltar un dels pares de la text-sound
composition, el suec Sten Hanson i un dels representants més veterans de
la poesia sonora francesa com Bernard Heidsieck.
D'altra banda, aquest dvd recull actuacions de poesia acció, com les de
Joan Brossa, Xavier Canals o Bartomeu Ferrando; així com de polipoesia,
terme instaurat a finals dels 80 pel poeta italià Enzo Minarelli i que
s'ha usat molt al nostre país al llarg de la dècada dels 90. Amb aquest
terme es dóna nom a tota aquella poesia que té la veu com a element guia
dels altres llenguatges propis de l'espectacle, o sigui, el so, la imatge,
la il·luminació, el vestuari, l'atrezzo... En són exemples el duo
Accidents Polipoètics, Xavier Sabater, Julien Blaine, Noel Tatú o el
mateix Minarelli.
Habitual Video Team
hem documentat, doncs, un moment
peculiar i important per a la poesia, en què hi ha hagut una mena de
redescobriment de la força de la paraula i de la necessitat de dir-la
davant d'un públic per adquirir el ple sentit. Hem gravat totes les
actuacions que s'han fet al G's Club des de l'any 91, alguns capítols de
Viatge a la Polinèsia, els festivals PROPOSTA i actes esparsos a la
sala Conservas i a altres llocs de la ciutat. Una dotzena d'anys
són prou i ve de gust fer-ne un recull, que no pretén ser exhaustiu però
sí representatiu de l'activitat poètica que s'aglutina sota la
característica comuna de la necessitat de ser interpretada en directe.
H V T Habitual Video Team és un equip videogràfic format des del 1991 per
Josep M. Jordana i Lis Costa. Es dedica principalment a la gravació de
concerts, poesia, performances, espectacles teatrals, etc., en estreta
col·laboració amb la discogràfica independent barcelonesa
G3G Records i amb propost.org, entitat independent dedicada a les
pràctiques poètiques. Disposa d'un arxiu de més de 500 gravacions. Ha
portat a terme videoaccions i ha participat en diversos espectacles
audiovisuals. També es dedica a la programació de cicles i mostres de
vídeo, com FLUX cicle de vídeo d'autor, des de l'any 2000.

in Barcelona (1991-2003)
is a videographic album made by Habitual Video
Team. A compilation of twelve years of live poetry which has been
alive and continues to be so around this city in bars, festivals or
in the street; local and international poetry; oral, sound, phonetic,
polypoetry, action poetry... Live poetry.
We have witnessed the development and consolidation of this kind of
poetry during the 90's: the Festival de Polipoesia directed by
Xavier Sabater, the poetry readings in the G's club, the Revista
parlada (Spoken magazine) and Revista caminada (Walked
magazine) organized by Carles Hac Mor and Ester Xargay, the
Viatge a la
Polinèsia (Journey to Polynesia)
or this festival,
PROPOSTA,
among others. To this day we had not seen such a live poetry boom.
We would have to refer to the avant-gardes, in the early days of the
20th Century, to find anything like it. However, the contemporary
counterparts do not claim to belong to a specific artistic group nor
to a generation or to any uniform conceptual aesthetics but instead
are an unclassifiable mix. Their only nexus is live performance.
The range of poetics in this album is therefore quite wide. On the
one hand we have all sorts of sound poetry representatives ranging
from the naked voices of Jordi Pope, Enric Casasses or Josep Ramon
Roig to the phonetic poetry of Jaap Blonk, Mark Sutherland or Valeri
Scherstjanoi. There is also Nobuo Kubota's vocal improvisation,
Lydia Lunch's spoken word and the syncopated poems of New Yorker
John Giorno. As far as voice/sound combined is concerned, we may
listen to Sten Hanson (Sweden), one of the founders of text-sound
composition, together with Bernard Heidsieck, one of the most
veteran representatives of French sound poetry.
On the other hand, the dvd compiles several action poetry
performances such as Joan Brossa, Xavier Canals and Bartomeu
Ferrando's, and also polypoetry, a name given in the late 1980's by
the Italian poet Enzo Minarelli and often used during the 1990's in
our country. It refers to a kind of poetry where voice is the
guiding element to other languages used in the show: that is, sound,
image, lighting, costumes, props... Accidents Polipoètics, Xavier
Sabater, Julien Blaine, Noel Tatú or Minarelli himself belong to
this field.
At Habitual Video Team we therefore feel that we have captured a
time both unusual and relevant in the art of poetry. During this
time there has been a kind of rediscovery of word power and of the
need to say it out loud in front of an audience in order to make
complete sense. All the performances held at the G's club since
1991, some episodes of Viatge a la Polinèsia, the three
PROPOSTA festivals and several sessions at the stage of Conservas
and other venues in town have been included in this dvd. Twelve
years is quite a long period and it is therefore worth having
compiled -even if by no means exhaustive- all this existing poetic
activity whose main aim is to be delivered live.

Founded in 1991 by Josep M. Jordana and Lis
Costa, Habitual Video Team is mainly devoted to filming
concerts, poetry readings, performances, theatre shows, etc. in
close colaboration with
G3G Records,
an independent label from Barcelona, and propost.org, an independent
group devoted to poetry. Altogether, Habitual Video Team archives
contain over 500 recordings. They have also conducted videoactions
and participated in several audiovisual events. Programming video
shows and cycles is another activity they have been conducting as,
for instance, "FLUX cicle de vídeo d'autor" since year 2000.
