About propost.org and
Berlin Literaturwerkstatt

projectes počtics sense títol - propost.org is a collective that works in the area of contemporary poetry and its fields of fusion. Since 1994, it has intensively worked on dynamising poetry in Barcelona and bringing unconventional, contemporary forms of expression and presentation such as orality, interdisiplinarity and new media work to the city's audiences.

From 2000 to 2004 propost.org organised the poetry festival PROPOSTA, which brought some of the most innovative voices in international poetry to Barcelona. Based on that experience, propost.org has been strengthening its work within the network of other European contemporary poetry bodies, specially the Berlin Literaturwerkstatt (Berlin Literature workshop), Berlin’s most important literary body, which produces regular programming throughout the year as well as organising the Berlin Poetry Festival and the Zebra Festival and is runs the web's most important poetry archive, lyrikline.org.

The result of this collaborative work is this event which, since 2006, alternates between the two city's venues and stages. The 2008 event is already planned for Berlin, at the Instituto Cervante's premises, with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull. They will present a new selection of Barcelona poets that work with recitals as part of their writing method.

propost.org also works with organisations in other cities, in order to be able to present their most innovative projects in Barcelona and connect them with the city's activities. Two examples of this that took place in 2007 include presentations of the poetry scene taking place in Brussels and, more recently, Madrid.
